I was listening to a fly fishing podcast (MP3) the other day and they were talking about their favourite flies and the fly WD40 came up a few times and since I wasn't really familiar with this fly, I first checked out my favourite source for flies, Terry Minnis but he wasn't selling them so I checked out ebay and ordered 6 of them (3x #18 and 3x #20) from Blue River Traders.
The WD stands for Wood Duck and as you can see from the pic, the tail is duck feathers. Has anyone ever tied or used this fly in BC and if so under which conditions or which lake/river?
Cheers! .. RobC
Man these are small (#18 and #20) ... I had forgotten how small these can go! ... My 47 year old eyes just may not be able to tie them to my tippet! Sheesh
